Description
This is a lovely tour for those who want to taste the best Red and White Montecarlo DOC Wine and discover the oldest wine estate in Montecarlo. Prepare yourself to feel and join the authentic Tuscan atmosphere. From the winery you will gaze in awe of the enchanting countryside landscape.
Our tour starts with a suggestive drive. Along the way, we’ll pass nearby the area of some of the historical and majestic countryside Villas of Lucca, constructed by rich nobles, from 16th century onward, to relax during the summer season. Then, we will follow a winding road to reach the medieval village of Montecarlo that overlooks the sunny profile of the hills, offering a most scenic view!
Special visit of the little hamlet, characterized by one of the most glorious medieval fortress of all Lucca‘s county! You will notice the noble red stone which underlines the crenelated tower and the encircling wall of the castle, before being definitely ready to enjoy the wine experience!
In the wine estate, you will be able to discover the different phases employed for the wine making as well as for the production of the best quality of extra-virgin olive oil. There will be a visit of the vineyards too. Before taking a seat to enjoy the tasting, you can choose to walk among the rows of vineyards and those of the suggestive olive trees.
The wine tasting experience will make you love the Montecarlo wine, which gained the DOC certification (the origin of the grapes used is controlled), for both Red and White wine. You will taste few different vintages and you’ll be delighted by the genuine Tuscan food, like the ‘crostini’, among which there will be a delicious Italian tomato bruschetta appetizer, with extra-virgin olive oil. You will also taste Tuscan salami and Pecorino cheese (cheese made with sheep milk) before enjoying the sweetest thing: Cantucci biscuits and typical Tuscan sweet dessert wine!
On the way back you will be willing to sing with us the traditional Italian songs, thanks to the happiness of this great half-day out, inebriated by the authentic Italian atmosphere, between culinary art and wine making in Lucca!
